It is a beautiful day. The weather is so mild out. The forecast predicts that it will rain for the next two or three days. Despite of its good new, he still looks sorrow. He lies down and thinks: "I wish i can own a land, so i don't have to worry about paying the rental".

Mrs. A stares off into space and certainlly looks to the office space of her boss, Mr. M. The room is empty. Mrs. A really wants to have a life living like her boss, who travels a lot on business and participates in many business parties.

He is thinking:"I wish i can win a lottery, become the richest people in the town like Mr. D, so he don't have to work or to worry about money anymore".

-------(And the circle just go around and around, never stop)-------

Author's Notes: This version is based on the idea of The Man in the Moon in Laos-Folklore Unit by Katherine Neville Fleeson (1899). In The Man in the Moon, the Blacksmith, who always complain of his life, wishes to change the others multiple times. God hears his wishes, turns him into the stone, stone-cutter, and the sun. God gets weary of his changing, then changes him one again into the Moon forever.

Take this idea, i converts a bit to account the dreams of every person. Since "the more you have, the more you want", a rich person want to have time to relax, poor people wishes to have more money. Busy people want to take a day off, while those unemployed really want to have a job.

Therefore, people all around the world have different sorrows, but all relates to others about their "dreams". Although i am not rich, but i have time to enjoy my favorite book, in which others may be a "dream".

  1. Hi Kha!
This story reminds me of another story besides The Man in the Moon, but I do not remember which one. I am also guilty of wanting something that I don't have. I want to be off work more to spend time with my nephews, but then I need to work so I can pay for my bills. The struggle of the characters in your story are very relatable to the reader. I wonder instead of the circling back around what if one of the characters received what they wished for? Did Mr. D win the lottery and buy the property from the farmer or is he just wishful thinking as well?

  2. Hi, Kha! I really enjoyed reading your story and seeing how you were able to put your own twist on it to separate it from the original story! I also like the font you chose for your blog, as it adds a nice little touch! I also agree with Megan when she says that the struggles your characters face in the story are very relatable and they are struggles I know that I am facing as well. I do wonder what would happen if one of the characters wishes had been granted, though. Overall, I really enjoyed reading your story and I hope to read more from you as the semester goes on!

  3. Hi Kha, I really enjoyed reading your story and how you put a creative twist on The Man in The Moon. My personal favorite character was Mr. D because of his backstory and the fact that his personality reminds me of someone I know from back in the day. I love how all of your characters are addressed by the first letter of their last name along with the right prefix. Very nice story!

  4. Hi Kha!
I really like how the story is set up - I think it is super fun. All the characters seem so caring and I really like how they have a backstory. It makes them more personable. I thought it was also cute how instead of names it was just initials - that was a fun change for once. My only problem with this story is that it was a little bit hard to read because of the choice in font. I thought it was cute - however it was hard on the eyes. Overall I really liked it!

    1. Hi Daniel. Thanks for your helpful comment. But did you notice that those initial name combine into DREAMS? I think it is very fun to make it that way too.
